How to Bring Forest Bathing into Your Home

    Here are 5 of our favorite ways to create enchanting forest vibes at home:

    1. Decorate with Forest Treasures

    2. Surround Yourself with Purifying Plants

    The lively color of green plants creates a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Some plants even provide a cleaner and safer environment by filtering the air.

    NASA scientists confirmed that a variety of plants actually help to remove irritating toxins from indoor spaces. Some of our favorites are Kimberly Queen Ferns, Flamingo Lilies, Broadleaf Lady Palms, and Peace Lilies, just to name a few.

    Plants are not only great natural air filters, they also increase oxygen and humidity levels which can result in a better mood, increased productivity and enhanced overall well-being. When selecting plants to take home, please keep in mind that some don’t play so well with furry friends so be sure to do your research.

    For an energetic cleanse, you can burn a smudge stick made with woodsy herbs like sage, palo santo, pine, rosemary, cedar or juniper to clear out negativity and create space for healing.

    3. Breathe In Healing Forest Scents

    Many trees, especially evergreens, naturally release aromatic chemicals called phytoncides that help them defend against insects, animals and decomposition.

    These phytoncides are made up of a component called terpene which has been shown to increase the immune responses to illnesses. Essential oils also contain terpene allowing us to enjoy antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal benefits at home.

    5. Create a Distraction-free Zone

    Unplug. Put down your phone, computer, or tablet and turn off the TV. Do a digital detox for an 30 minutes, an hour or maybe even a full day!

    Take a break from the artificial blue light on your screen and all the stories and stimuli that distract you from the beauty of the present moment.

    Read a book, journal, draw or just listen to the sounds of nature outside your windows. Try an activity that engages all 5 senses. However you do it, create some space in your life to get quiet, connect with yourself and tap into the realness of being ALIVE!
