Turmeric. The super-orange superfood with all the health benefits we love.
Copper Cup is here to enlighten us on turmeric's healing properties and to share an easy (and delicious) way to integrate this spice into your daily wellness routine.
The biggest and most scientifically supported benefit of turmeric is that it's anti-inflammatory, meaning it reduces the inflammation of your whole body: cells, joints, muscles, and digestive system. Reducing inflammation lessens joint pain, relaxes muscles, helps headaches, and improves digestion. Inflammation is a big part of aging, so turmeric's anti-inflamatory properties also promote overall wellness and longevity.
Turmeric is also proven to have a stabilizing effect on your mood and energy levels. Turmeric is what is called an adaptogen meaning it helps your body metabolize stress. When you drink a golden milk or a Copper Cup Turmeric Latte you feel warm, relaxed, energized, and good. It's a gentle effect and not like anything else. You really just have to try it to see how good it feels.
Because it's caffiene-free, turmeric is safe for moms, kids, pregnant women, and anyone else. There's no buzz and no crash.
The Key to Unlocking the Benefits of Turmeric
Indian people have an ancient remedy called Golden Milk that unlocks the benefits of turmeric by making curcumin - the active ingredient in turmeric - available to the body.
Curcumin is only available to your metabolism if two other things are present: black pepper and fat. Traditionally, Golden Milk is turmeric mixed with whole milk and black pepper.
The key to truly enjoying the benefits of a turmeric latte is to make it "bulletproof." Along with black pepper, it needs to be consumed in or with some high-quality fat. Try adding some coconut oil, coconut milk or coconut butter to your golden milk.
Turmeric lattes can be enjoyed any time of day. Start your morning with a turmeric elixir for clear-headed energy or sip on a cup to wind down before bed. Enjoy a golden milk latte for that mid-day pick-me-up or after work to relax and destress.
How to Make a Golden Milk Latte at Home
It's pretty easy to make a turmeric latte at home. You just need to heat up some fatty milk of your choice, add turmeric and some black pepper. You are ready!
If that seems like too much work, Copper Cup has made it even easier with their instant golden milk powder (which was featured in our March Goddess Provisions Box - NOW SOLD OUT).
You can also use their Turmeric Latte Mix as a healthy addition to other yummy treats.
