What’s commonly referred to as ‘forest bathing’ has been known to:

  • reduce stress
  • improve mood
  • increase mental focus
  • strengthen immunity
  • inspire creativity
  • improve sleep
  • boost energy
  • enhance intuition

Since we don’t always have time to get lost in the forest, the September Goddess Provisions Box is packed with items that bring it’s rejuvenating gifts to you.

Here are 5 of our favorite ways to create enchanting forest vibes at home:

    1. Surround Yourself with Purifying Plants

The lively color of green plants creates a serene and welcoming atmosphere. Some plants even provide a cleaner and safer environment by filtering the air.

NASA scientists confirmed that a variety of plants actually help to remove irritating toxins from indoor spaces. Some of our favorites are Kimberly Queen Ferns, Flamingo Lilies, Broadleaf Lady Palms, and Peace Lilies, just to name a few.

Plants are not only great natural air filters, they also increase oxygen and humidity levels which can result in a better mood, increased productivity and enhanced overall well-being. When selecting plants to take home, please keep in mind that some don’t play so well with furry friends so be sure to do your research.

For an energetic cleanse, you can burn a smudge stick made with woodsy herbs like sage, palo santo, pine, rosemary, cedar or juniper to clear out negativity and create space for healing.

    2. Stock Up on Earthy Products

Forests are brimming with vibrancy. In a such a healthy ecosystem you’ll find an abundance of nutrients, minerals and antioxidants to refresh and revitalize the physical body.

Outside of their medicinal properties, gifts from the forest can offer a sense of groundedness and interconnectedness with the earth.

Fill your pantry and medicine cabinet with things like tinctures and herbal tea blends that use tree barks and roots, beauty products with cleansing clays and elixir blends that have medicinal mushrooms (like chaga, reishi, and lion’s mane) on the ingredient list.

To help you grow your supply of woodsy wellness, we’ve included the gently exfoliating and moisturizing Cedar Eucalyptus Body Polish from Trillium Organics in our Enchanted Forest September Box.

    3. Breathe In Healing Forest Scents

Many trees, especially evergreens, naturally release aromatic chemicals called phytoncides that help them defend against insects, animals and decomposition.

These phytoncides are made up of a component called terpene which has been shown to increase the immune responses to illnesses. Essential oils also contain terpene allowing us to enjoy antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal benefits at home.

To help you experience the revitalizing benefits of forest aromas, we’ve included therapeutic grade Eucalyptus oil from PlantLife in the September Goddess Provisions Box.

Put a few drops of essential oil in your diffuser or some to your favorite DIY creams and take 3 deep breaths in through your nose for some aromatherapy. You can do this throughout the day to calm your nerves and bring yourself back into balance.

    4. Decorate with Forest Treasures

Adorn your walls, shelves and windows with beautiful reminders of nature’s deep-rooted and balanced beauty. Pine cones, leaves, flowers, seeds, moss, sticks and stones are natural treasures we love to keep around.

Take a break from the artificial blue light on your screen and all the stories and stimuli that distract you from the beauty of the present moment.
